Balsa wood is derived from trees grown in Ecuador, Columbia, and Costa Rica. Our balsa wood is harvested from old coffee and banana plantations, as we do not disrupt or harvest from natural forests. Standing over 90 feet tall and 18 inches in diameter, balsa wood trees provide a wealth of wood to be used in a variety of ways. Its insulating properties make it the best material for refrigerators and cold storage rooms. Its sound absorption makes it a good choice for airplanes and modern speakers. Balsa wood is also used as a core material to add strength without adding a lot of weight.
